There are plenty of charter boats here in santa cruz. Everything from rock cod to tuna...

I know there is a good secret place. Some of my friends found it long time ago. It requires little hiking skill and could be quite dangerous too. Don't go there if you know that day is high tide!!!

It's up in Stinson Beach but not quite there and it's not far from the Golden Gate bridge. Follow the roads on CA highway 1 to Stinson Beach, you will see the big rock at a mountain peak where is the initial spot you see the whole pacific ocean in site. There should be a rest area and rescue phone there. Then, you have to make you way by hiking like a 30mins trip down to a huge big rock that sits out of the coast. And there, it's the beautiful fishing spot!

Sorry my english is kinda limited, so don't know the names of the fish, but it gets like 5-10 fish per hours in various size but mostly in intermediate size. Of course it depends on your fishing skill as well. hehe... Mine sux, I just enjoy the good sceneries, those twisty roads, hiking through the trails and did I mention twisty roads=AWD
