Default Japanese Import Movie - "The Princess Blade"

I went to see this movie based soley on seeing the preceeding picture and the short synopsis at Yahoo Movies - I thought I'd just recommend it. If you like import samurai flicks, you should like this.

At the moment it's in a very limited release, but I believe there are 3 screens in the BA showing it: Towne 3, San Jose; Elmwood Theatre 3, Berkeley; and UA Galaxy, San Francisco.

The Spurs will

Saw this movie late last year or early this year.

Asian Film Festival in SF at AMC Kabuki no less.

Thought it totally blew. I've seen now 3 Japanese faux action movies and they've all had some stupid "this movie will alter your perception of life" theme/angle. Always heavy handed and without a doubt boring as all shat. Princess Blade had a cool beginning but the middle was ass lame and the end was somewhat more interesting but still the only good Japanese movie I've seen is Versus, but that's only if you dig gratuitious violence and schlocky effects/storyline. Kinda like old school 80's horror with cheesy effects and forgettable story. I saw the HK flick Full Time Killers at the Film Festival that same weekend and it kicked the crap outta Princess Blade.

Now, who came out first "Versus" or this one?
