did you get an indash screen? and who is it made by? because on some screens they have a "safety" feature that you have to bypass if you want to have movies on while ur driving.

wombat- Yeah I know alpine stuff, that screen is one of the ones where you have to bypass a safety feature so you can have it on all the time. You have an Ai-Net changer correct? Doing that is a matter of just plugging it into the port on that back of the head unit. What screen did you purchase btw?

fry- im not sure about a meeting place for all this, I never really planned to do a full blown install day, that'd be a bit much work, I planned on doing small sidejobs, but i guess if enough people just want to have an install day, the best place would probably be my house just so i could use what i have. If you want your headunit done, invest in "smartcables" if there are any stereo stores around you. You will need part #'s PO1680 (plugs into pioneer hu's) and MET 808901 they make installations much cleaner because it requires no wire cutting, they are 16 dollars for each harness, if not just go get a harness adapter MET 708901 and i can solder that to the pioneer harness that came with your hu.

i assume you already have a screen? also on your existing radio is it the big double din size or is there a pocket underneath? or are you going to use a separate motorized screen underneath/on top of hte dvd player? Im not 100% sure on this but I think with pioneer products you need to buy a separate brain, Im not sure with this model tho. I will find out, unless you already know/have it.

if you're splicing the wires together yes. Connect the ground off the hu to the ground on the harness. And then there should be a green wire on your head unit, which is for the dvd movies...its supposed to be connected to the e brake, but you can just ground that on the car chassis, so you can have movies playing while the car is in motion.
