How did you possibly convince them to total that, especially if an estimate was under $10k. Wow.

It's right in the post. "The estimate for repairs was $6900, $2300 in parts and the rest labor."

not nto be an ass but......my WRX's roof was caved in by a tree and it wasn't declared a total loss there was $11,000 worth of damage.....either your insurance company is smoking some good crack or I don't know my head from my butt......that looks like a freaking love tap......

Thats funny that a insurance company can be convinced to total a car.

Guys beware of what lurks underneath those panels. If this guy was upfront about selling the car then maybe some pics of the underbody, frame and some complete pics would be nice. Not saying its not possible for this car to only have 10k in damage, but whens the last time you heard a insurance company total a 30k+ car for 10k in damage.

Isn't an evo like 28k, not 30+?

about 32K out the door, when my friend got his. With the sunroof and high spoiler that seems to be on all the cars the evo come out to a little over 30kl

Out the door and what the car is worth (to an insurance company) are two very differnt things.

did you even read my post. It's just over 30k with the sunroof and spoiler which seems to be on almost every usdm evo.

Either way that is not the point here, my point is to make sure the prospective buyer knows the exact condition(which the pics don't show) of the car before purchasing

What did you buy it off the insurance company for, if you don't mind me asking? I can't believe they sold it to you for under $13k, in which case you'd be losing money on the deal. I've seen EVOs worse than this on insurance auctions that went for alot more money...

Yeah...I am scratching my head on this one. We have a bodyshop on our lot and I have seen what gets totaled compared to what does not. We have had cars that had the frame twisted like a twizzler and still got fixed...and it certainly was not an Evo. If I were going to buy this one I would have one very experienced body man coming along with me.

[Edit - I like run on sentences.]
