Post on the verge of being a subie owner....sway me

hey everyone,
i'm new to the boards, just having found the i-club, but have been an impreza fan for quite awhile now, so much so that i am seriously contemplating purchasin a WRX. I feel i just need a friendly nudge in the "right" direction=)...what do you love about your subarus?

I've also got a question about Subaru build quality; will the fit and finish of the vehicle degrade unacceptably over time? i would esp. like to hear from late model impreza owners as i figure that is what the WRX is going to be most like. thanks alot for you time!

See, you live close by, and if you buy a WRX, I would have to come down and break your legs and feed you to the fish in the bay.

Are you convinced now?

P.S. Welcome aboard!

Don't know about the degradation of the fit and finish of the car having had mine for only 16 months. You say you've been a fan for a while. That means you know what to expect. There's not much I can say except feed your ego and go and buy one. I love people asking me what kind of car I drive. A simple reply I give them is "A Subaru." They think I'm a freak! Then I take 'em out for a spin.

After owning Hondas for more than 4 years, I thought that my RS's body (MY01) wasn't as well built as my Civic or Accord. The door squeaks a little, I had interior squeaks (fixed now), paint chips easily etc. But overall, I love my RS more than any other cars I've ridden or owned. I can't virtually get stuck in snow, it has great power, and really easy to maintain and fix. Easy to fix is always a plus because it's less stressful.

Check the snow pic here:

Can any FWD or RWD do this?

I'm not one to sway anyone.... as my g/f is about to buy a VW Jetta VR6 next week.... so, my theory is, get what you want, whatever makes you happy. And I tried for months to sway her.... Hey, maybe I should look for a new g/f... hear Jamie might be on the market...hmmmm.

Everyone has said that the new Impreza models (WRX) are lightyears ahead of the current one in terms of fit and finish and quality... I doubt they will even rattle!

(Our redesigned MY00 Legacy doesnt rattle at all... I think the 2002 Impreza's are going to be along those lines)
