Post Why does this crap happen?

So I'm online and a friend of mine I havent' talked to in almost tow months IMs me. One of here best friends just died in a car accident. He was riding home from a school dance with his best friend. They hit a patch of black ice, spun off the road, and smacked a tree on the passenger side. He dies instantly, borken neck. His friend who was driving doesn't even get a scratch. And out of all the kids who were at that dance who had been drinking, neither of them had. He'd just been accepted to Penn State, would've graduated Cum Laude in June, etc...Why the hell does this [email protected]#% happen?!?!? It makes me soooooo f-ing mad!!!! ARGH!!!!

I'm sorry. That really sucks.
I do know what you mean about it happening like that though. It seems whenever something good is happening, something really bad happens right afterwords.
Once again I am sorry that happened.
But if it is any consolation (which I know it most likely isn't) that makes me really mad to

Sorry to hear about the bad news dude. It sucks the way life is unfair like that, it seems like the good people always get screwed... The jerks, murderers, soul-less selfish bastarts seem to always do allright - I hate it too...

The worst thing about it is thinking about how I'd feel if I had been the one driving. I can only begin to imagine. When I wrecked my mom's Legacy back in May I was just so glad I got hurt worse than my friend that was with me. It's also really hard to see my friend Jess having to go through this. She's so upset about it.

That's horrible, man.

I'm a senior in high school...and while I have done my share of stupid things, but I don't drive drunk and I don't involve others in my antics. Plainly put.

I have a friend who had DUI charges levelled against him. He wasn't on a public road but drove his Cherokee down a dirt road about 100yds into a ditch. While I refuse to condemn him as evil, what he did was inordinately stupid...and deserving of a punishment so severe. But he got off lucky and he knows it.

I can only be thankful that in cases such as these no one else dies. My high school of two years now (and other area high schools as well) have had several recent student deaths in auto accidents, not all of which involved alcohol. I can't think of a good solution except to remember your own mortality. I'm not perfect...but whenever that speedometer climbs, I remember that 5 minutes doesn't mean much when you're dead.

I wish you and your friends the best coping with the death. There's not much more I can do to console you other than that. I'm truly sorry. Sometimes, life's not fair.

My neighbor's best friend died in a car crash a week or two ago, there were three of them in a Suburban that left the road on the way home from a church event and hit a tree - two died instantly, one in the back was ok.

Wear your seat belts, allow extra safety margins and drive within your limits. Watch out for other people!

The tough thing is not being able to say goodbye...

Thats a major bust bro. I know that most likly that any thing I say will not help but I will give it my best. It a sad day when someone great dies. Its even sader when you know that great person. The only word of wisdome I can give is to honor them in the way you think they would like to be honored. And the most important thing of all never forget them. Remember the bad. Remember the good. It may hurt at first. But later it will bring great joy to you. If you remember the best of times with that person. And lastly talk to some one. Don't go do something you might regret later on. I have found the best thing to do is to talk with people. Don't let your emotions get put away. Let them out.
