Default 91 Legacy , which size winter tires ?

The car came with alloy 14's [ its an LSi ] and I just picked up a used set of 15' steelies, would it make any "real" difference if I get 195/60/15's or 195/65/15 ? I have a two-fold purpose with this, I'll be selling the car next summer and will want to make the tire/rims package something current Imprezza/Legacy owners will want to use .I'm not concerned about throwing the speedo off, its a slug in any case .

I haven't checked the tire calculator to see which dimension is closest to stock, but I'd probably recommend the 195/60/15. On a previous car, I had 195/65/50 snow tires, and it was just too much sidewall for my taste. I did lots of dry-pavement miles during winter; the tall tires felt kinda squirrely.

Plus, as Ciper will surely say in a moment, the slightly smaller 195/60/15 will give you a slight gearing advantage, if that's something you feel will be beneficial. And it's a pretty common size, I think, so you'll have lots of choices.
