Default Transmission Swap....Is it Possible?

I have a 98 Lecacy Outback and I want to do a transmission swap. I want my automatic to be manual transmission. I am so over not being able to shift on my own!!!!!!! I miss it.

Will the transmission swap right out? I know I will need a different center console. WIll I need a different flywheel and a different starter too?

Anyone know where I can get a good used manual transmission?

I really don't know much. But it should bolt on to the existing mounts. The hard part are the things you need to change between the tranny input and engine/flywheel (not limited to), where quite a few things need to be changed/converted (clutch, throw-outs, etc.). Then you also have the wiring...

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Unless you really want to keep the car, I would just get another car or scoob with an MT. Especially if your having someone work on it. The cost to make the conversion can possilby (and very likely) to exceed the actual value of the car itself.
