Question Two Questions for yah

Ok two things I need help with.
1. Do MY00 come with red stitched shift knobes?
2. My fog light chipped on the inside. I think its a defect. Called Dealer they say road hazard, no warrenty. Is this BS? Should I call SOA and press the issue? New fog light is 111.88 for one!

Mad Max

ps Is it me, or the subies have like one coat of paint on them?

You can get the fog light from Dale Teague's for around $90. However, replacing them with Hella 500s will set you back about $75.00 for the pair, and I think that may include stone protector thingies...

Well I can tell you that my RS has a real leather steering wheel but has some fake leather shifter with red stitching. Its an A/T also. I want to swap out the shifter since the fake leather look and feel of it takes away from the interior. You would figure that SOA would at least give you real leather?

I'll answer the non-answered question. I'm not sure, but I too think that there is only 1 layer of paint. I've gotten backed into twice, so I can see easily how thick it is. It is SO THIN that I can barely feel when the paint ends and the plastic bumper begins. That's cheap! Oh well, I still love my RS.

Yes on the red stitches.

As for the fog light, it happens. I have a chip on one too. That's just part of having almost 6 inch lights less than a foot off of the ground.

I posted about fog light protection on the Tech forum a month or so ago and some people pointed me to a few different clear 'tape' protectors that are available. They are used on paint to halp prevent rock chips and should work on lights too.

So unless you bought the car with the chip and can prove it, you have to live with it. On the plus side, mine has been chipped for about 3K miles and the light is still fine.
