Lightbulb Possible conclusion about O2'WRX power....

OK,this is my own humble opinion, flames will kindly be directed to the flame dept: www.kissmbutt.com

Looking at the info directly from Subaru regarding the new Supercharged ST-X coming out (which has won me over now-it is pretty practical)-I found that it will be making 230hp.

Now-I cant see a good reason at all for Subaru to make a truck-like car make more HP than it's performance flagship, and publicity getting (WRC ) Impreza.

Unrelated-I was happy to see that on the Sube site, they still say that Sube is wholly owned by Fuji industries. So the he11 with GM,they cant ruin us yet!
So with this in mind-those that think that this does or doesnt effect their opinion on the WRX may now explicitly spout their opinions now.

I am saying that the Imp' will have at least 240-maybe 250hp. The cynical part of me thinks that 220hp is a likely number, also.

200hp will make me want to whine and bit*h!

Power is not what concerns me, but the price is. The new H6 Outback is around 30k. Thats a bit much for a Subaru. For that kind of money you get Audi Stationwagons/Quattros.
So the new Rex won't be coming cheap, upper 20's or lower 30's I guess.
Which would be about what you have to pay for the turbos elsewhere, too.
Rs with turbo, 2 doors, rallyhistory, way to go...

The STX might also need that extra bit of power since it will be in a larger truck/car type of vehicle. It will be using a supercharger rather then the turbo from the EJ20. The current market has SUV's and trucks out selling cars so why wouldn't they go after more power where there is a larger market? The sports car market is just starting to make a come back. It might not be as easy a sell if they jumped head first into it. If they do mellow the output a little it really won't make a bit of difference. HP can be reclaimed.
