Post SVT or Legacy

What do you guys think of the 01 legacy I think im going to go trade my SVT for one kinda hard since the SVT has more hp, but on the other side Twin Turbo for the legacy. By the way i miss my impreza ex took it last year after I kicked her out and just can't see myself driving another one.

Thumbs up

I have a friend with a 1998 SVT with a few mods but he has continuously had problems (he is an idiot and very hard on his car but the clutch has been replaced at least 3 times he has blown the MAFS 2 times in the past few weeks has 300+ lbs of stereo in the trunk and still wants to race me in my 97 2.2L auto because I rode his a** on a hard curve freeway on ramp). Honestly the SVT is a great car and now that the Supercharger is out it can be even better but if stock stick with the SVT and not mod it as it is a great sedan minus teh clutch problems it seems to always have(even when stock) now considering that the Legacy is a 4cyl compared to the 6 weighs about +150lbs more(depending on options) and has @40 less HP same amount of torque and AWD(less chance of torque steer as power increases...Torque Steer BAD, AWD Good LOL). If you add the normal N/A mods to the legacy (I.E.= UD pulley, Intake, Exhaust, Headers, Ignition control, Fuel control) you can get close to if not more than another 20hp at the wheels. Or just turbo it and get 40-100+hp from 5-7lbs of boost and no real chance of torque steer which is the main problem with FWD high power/torque cars which is a main reason why Honda has peak torque higher in the power band. Hope this helps you out in deciding.

The Legacy GT-B (wagon) and RS-K(saloon) have twin turbos and between 260 and 280bhp.

Only available in Japan, or as imports to NZ, Australia and UK

And I have a GT-B in the UK

(Sorry - couldn't help smirking after reading the thread on Independence Day )
