Thumbs up Sat in German Spec WRX this week

Well, I was in Hamburg this week visiting some friends and passed by a Subaru dealer and what did they have on the floor but a rally blue WRX. Couldn't drive it unfortunately but got to look under the hood (which is very light by the way) and see the real thing. The seats are not STI ones. They seemed pretty similar to our's as far as the basic bolstering goes. The middle of the back has an extra fold. The MOMO wheel was actually kinda disappointing. Felt really plasticky and I thought it would be much thicker. Still, the perforated parts felt real nice. Dash is nice and clean, nice guages as well. In real life the thing still looks like a new Neon but it looks good though. Drilled Aluminum pedals. One interesting thing that you can't I didn't really notice on the photos up till now is that the hood has a nice crease in front of the scoop. Basically mimics the spot where the WRC car has the large air vent.

Okay, specs: 160 Kw (218 hp DIN) @ 5600 rpm, 292 newton-meters @3600 rpm. That is 109.3 horsepower per liter. 0-100kph 6.2 sec. 0-160 kph 17.1 sec, top speed 230 kph. Braking- from 100kph cold 39 meters, warm 40.6 meters.

Basic competition is the Audi S3 (210 hp)with 0-100 at 6.8 sec and the VW Bora VR6 4motion(204) with 0-100kph at 8.2 secs.

You get 17 inch wheels with 215/47-17 Bridgestone RE 011 on it. Also includes the 4 pot fronts with 2 pot rears brakes. Both vented.

I've got lots of pics and other stats if you guys want them. Stuff like car track, length, weight. Interior measurements. torque curves and power curves.Just post here and I'll see if I have it. The german mags are pretty detailed and they have all kinds of info. Oh, drag coefficient is .33.

I have broschures on the Impreza line, the accessories/options for the Impreza and prices. Oh, base for WRX is 28,371.59 Euros in Germany.
