FOR SALE: 1997 Legacy Outback Wagon 2.5L DOHC phase I engine, Arctic White, rear spoiler, grey and colored cloth interior. CD, A/T 145,000mi. Recent rotors. and brakes, recent tires (less than 10K miles). Drawtite towing package, Hella Driving Lights.

Price: $5800

Needs: Cylinder Head Gasket replacement.
I have purchased the following parts:
2 - 11044aa610 - cyl. gasket
1- 13270aa062 - gasket rocker
1- 13272aa063 - gasket rocker
4- 13293aa050 - gasket rocker
12- 13271aa051 - rocker washers
2 - 14035aa281 - intake gasket
2 - 44022aa020 - gasket
4 - 806732150 - oilseal - 32x4
1 - 2111aa007 - water pump
1 - 21114aa051 - pump gasket
1 - 13028aa072 - timing belt
1- HAYNES Subaru Repair Manual

This is the first time the cylinder head gasket has gone on this car. Other than that, I had the cam seals and water pump done at 90,000 along with the other 90,000mi service stuff. This car was always serviced by the same mechanic since I've had it since 2000 when I bought it with 75,000mi from a co-worker that took immaculate care of it.
I'm not as immaculate, but the car was never abused off road (no more than dirt roads.) It was used to tow my sea-doo to Maine once, and I towed the sea-doo to the boat launch a mile from my house.

It started it's overheating problem about 2 weeks ago, and I replaced the thermostat, but it is definately the head gasket problem. I only drove it with the temp high for about a mile, slowly, with the heater on high (of course it was blowing cold...) I've been driving an Accord for 2 weeks!!!

I know I don't have to replace everything on my parts list above, but I might as well if the engine needs to be pulled. The parts were bought from Quailty Subaru in Wallingford, CT on 11/12/03

There is a slight crease in the drivers side door from my father backing into it while parked in the family driveway. The drivers side mirror doesn't work, (it's there, but the motor doesn't work - thanks dad... :-)

Never had a problem with the AWD or Brakes, nothing major (other than my father backing into it) ever happened to this car. The car has never been smoked in, and doesn't even have a cigarette lighter or ashtray, it was special ordered from subaru by the guy I bought it from. This car gets ~23 ~24mpg highway.

Email me: [email protected], my car and I are located in central CT. You can also try 860-573-5259 - Cell.
