Default Piston slap?

Well im still looking for an ej25 engine and Smacksube has one but he says it has some sort of piston slap, and may throw a bearing. Is this normal? any way for it to be fixed. Anything else I should know? Thanx

To my understanding most engine (cold) have piston slap.. You could have the motor's rings and bearings checked is your worried about it

This means Not to get the engine IIRC it is that the piston is not tight on the Crank and the piston is hitting the head if you buy this motor be warned head work and pistons may have to be done.....

headwork, no
piston hittng crank, no
spun bearing, no

bearings are not the issue on teh ej25, while it is possible, the problem with the ej25 is the crappy rods.

and piston slap is when the piston moves around in the cylender and the skirts of the piston hit the wall... only when the engine is cold is it normally hearable.

98s have this problem more than 99 and on because its dohc.

all the ej25s are prone to blowing head gaskits, but so are the 2.0s... the 2.2s are not bad and neigher is the 1.8
