about the 2 forms of ID.. i have my license..but other than that i only have a high school ID..would that work? even tho i gradeated a few years ago?

Dunlop SP5000's being ordered mid this week..i'll have to borrow a spare full-sizer

good idea about spare shoes and wiper blades, two things i never woulda considered.

shortly before the meet, should we get a list of participants cell phone #'s?.. just in case something happens and we fall out of CB range..

Yup, my page is ready with all this info, but I'm working on the registration portion.

I usually maintain a list of cell #s etc as well as keep in contact with our meet folks in each city.

A very good list of things. Also, not to discourage anyone, if you don't have the parts listed/resources for the parts listed (i.e. no room/money for a full size spare) a few of us will have one that I'm sure someone wouldn't mind lending out.

It's good to have a list though, not to forget anything.

just went to tirerack.com to look up a price on the SP5000's... i swore i saw 2 versions of them before..all they have up now is the Assymetrical's.. not bad at $101 each i guess..but i thought there was another version.
also, cant find the Dunlop WinterSport M3's anymore either.. im still debating between all seasons or snow tires(not excactly made of $$, and come spring, i will need to replace my RE92's)

Ok, the couple I house sit for just came back from Candia.
(going from what murray has told me assuming Candia is still in the plans)

They said bring your passport or birth certificate. Its no longer just a drivers license thing. Going into Candia is easy, its getting back into the US that is hard. From what they were telling me it might be required that you have one or the other, but it will most defently be much much faster if you have a passport. Just show that to them and u'r through.

I know when I went to australia it took 4 weeks to get my passport w/o paying extra $$ to rush it, so I would go apply for one now, or start looking for a brith certificate. Perhaps somone can research this a little more.

If your not taking a spare tire:

Plug kit / Air compressor or
A can or two of Fix-a-Flat

can be used as a temporary fix in addition to the stock doughnut. Be sure to check your doughnut for leaks/cracks/pressure

it's very very very encouraged, almost mandatory to have a full sized spare with you. Like I said I have ones people can borrow for the trip, or at least make sure there is 1 full size spare per 2 vehicles. The schedule is usually such that if someone gets a tire torn up a donut will hamper the whole group's travels. Also make sure you have your wheel lock keys and a spare that fits over your brakes.

A FSS is so important to bring along. Just ask Billy, he needed his on he first one after he had an incedent with a curb or embankment or something that bent one of his steelies. Had he not had it and had to roll on the donut we would have ended up in DE at about 5 in the morning rather than 3.

AND, make sure it's the STATE issued birth certificate if you have to go this route. My girl person works in the travel industry and recounted various stories of asshats trying to travel with their cute little baby feet birth certificates. One of whom happened to be her friendgirl that was going on her honeymoon. They had to exchange their tickets to a flight the next day. SUCKAH!

I call dibs on one of Adam's wheels for my FSS.

Jay - once all the input is in - can you update the first post with a comprehensive complete checklist so not everyone has to search through the thread for all the necessities.

Unless you are bringing a St. Bernard a flask would be nice too. Even though alcohol is actually bad for you when trying to keep warm - it still makes it easier to accept being stuck in a snow bank.

Ok, first of all your talking about Billy He probally used the curb as an embankment.

I didnt realize a FFS was such a big deal. I didnt notice anyone other than Z with extra wheels last time.

Wylie... if you dont come, im gonna need to borrow a WRX rim, lol.. no way am i using my small brakes for this trip.. they have the suck. im ordering my SP5000's this week and putting em on my gunmetal wheels as soon as it is constantly in the 30's or 40's, or first snow.

Wylie..you oughta tag along, your at least welcome to be a backseat driver in my car with Ian and I.. unless Ian cant afford to go(still a possibility)

i'll talk to my mom about a passport soon.

anyone know if a decent 2 way radio(with sub-channels and all) will work..i thought they worked on CB frequiencies. otherwise i'll have to borrow my dads CB and maybe buy a smaller antenna(he's got one of those 1980's 25 foot rod ones, lol)

WRX rims??? me don't have no stinking WRX rims.
IF murray ever gets my own personal set put together, I'll have two sets of rims (unless he's still claiming a set), one set of decent RE92s (6-7/32nds), and some drifting rubber for rent, trade, sale, whatever. Yup, 3 sets of wrx rims - don't ask
