Question Need to annoy the neighbors and burn some rubber...

Thanks to great advice of you in this forum, I have my WRX!

My original question was whether to get WRX/used M3/Mustang GT or Z28. WRX was definitely the right choice, my grin gets wider each time I drive - still 500 miles to go until Max Grin is possible!!

Anyway, I still yearn for that V8 rumble and to get some of those teenage burnout's out of my system. AWD is too efficient at getting the power down and pushing me up the road.

Given a max budget of $5k, can any of you recommend a cheap muscle car with which I cann lay down some serious rubber? This will just be for weekends and mucking about. WRX will be my daily driver.

I would have to say a 87-91 Camaro IROC or 305 RS would do the trick.

You should be able to get one around their, and they are so notoriously lite in the rear end that Burnouts are almosta given with any throttle plan.

I got rid of my 88 Iroc in favor of my 01 RS. Miss the gut wrenching torque but i love having the gas mashed will ziping around a corner rain or shine in the Colorado mountains, and not having to stop at every gas station.

Have fun.

If all you want is to lay down some smokies, just remove your driveshaft. You now have a Impreza GS-T. hehe, but seriously, if he takes that out, will the venter diff burn up, os is the center diff's only function is to allow for front/rear rotational differences and not really for torque biasing (aside from locking up when there is too much differentiation). IF the driveshaft is removed, the outpot yoke on the TC should just spin freely, fooling the diff into thinking that the rear is spinning in complete harmony with the front wheels. What are some other thoughts in this? cant very well take out the front axles, unless you disassemble the outer cv boots and joints. i also think you would need that special cusco or whatever brand fixed center diff so that it doenst burn up when trying to compensate for the front by sending more power to the the rear bia conmplete hydrolic lockup.

i'd say a mid-late eighties mustang LX..the faster of the two stangs. the GT is slower due to the excess porkiness..and you can pick up a killer 90 fox body LX with cop pkg. for around 4500
and lay some serious tracks with no problems.
OR get a TA with the turbo 305 or the preferable big block from the late 70's

get a nice set of headers and a full exaust. You won't be laying down the rubber but it will sound awesome.

Poor some anti-freeze out on the street. It's really slick and makes a lot of smoke when it heats up. It might be slick enough to spin all four tires.

Sorry to you environmentalist types.
