Default what's a brighton?

hey, i'm about to buy an L, but i'm seeing these Brightons all over the place. what's the difference between these and the regular L.

i'm going to do a wrx engine/suspension swap for rallyX and such. what's the best L to start with?

thanks,

=brett=

The brightons are 1.8L's... and iirc, FWD. You can convert to AWD drivetrain by swapping Trans, and rear suspension.

L's used to be 1.8L's... then became 2.2L's. AWD.

RS's are 2.5 AWD

WRX's are 2.0L Turbo AWD

STI's used to be Hopped up 2.0L's, in 04, became 2.5L Turbo AWD

*Not all models were avail in the US durring the same model years.

Brighton is the name Subaru used for a while for their most basic models (Legacy as well as Impreza) www.cars101.com has details on old subies. According to http://www.cars101.com/impreza_archive93_96.html the Brighton name was not used until 1996.
