Wink A little sob story...

Well, after a couple years and many miles, I've sold my second RS. Some of you who know me also know that I got an Integra Type-R that was supposed to take it's place for a while. OK, well -- I sold that too (for just about what I paid for it). Yeah, it's an awesome car, it's faster than my Sube was, but it's NOT a WRX...

I have to say THANKS to the people who participate positively to this board, because that is part of what this is about -- the enthusiasts here care about the performance of their cars, aren't THAT consumed with looks, and are pretty technically knowledgeable. Much more than I can say for most boards around. It's cool to be a part of something like that, and you just don't find it outside of the Sube world from what I can tell.

I went and test drove a Celica GT-S today. No thanks. Not fast enough, the gauges really didn't appeal to me, and the shifter needs a lot of work. Maybe I could get used to it, but why bother? Oh, and the MR2 Spyder -- I didn't take it out of the lot because just sitting in it I knew it wasn't for me.

So what the hell else is there? I sold the Sube so I could get a decent amount of money out of it... and I figured the Type-R might be good enough to make me forget the WRX is coming (it wasn't).

Bottom line: I will soon be driving a 1987 automatic Honda Civic with minor front end body damage as I wait for the WRX.

PLEASE COME SOON.

PLEASE.

I don't know how much longer I can take this.

heh heh.

Can I get some support please?

Greg.
(No, I'm not usually this stupid with money, but I love my cars...)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
you sold your Type R for an auto 87 Civic.
And you say you are not a dumb guy
That is the whole point of being ignorant, you dont even realize that either
But the Type R being a honda and Limited production car why would you sell it? Its not going to devalue much!

I wish I could feel your pain. I can't even afford to make payments on the RS I want. I think insurance for a turbo for me would be like $5000 a year anyway. I know I drive better and safer than the 105 year old lady who doesn't drive her car faster than 35! Oh well, Guess I'll just have to turbo it myself.

Hey man I feel for you. I am driving my 95 1.8 liter Impreza AWD. Untill the WRX is here. I really hope it gets here soon. I love my car, dont get me wrong, but alas it will never have the speed I am looking for. Sure I could do an Engine swap, but why spend a year or so on this project when I can have it all in a neatly wrapped STi package? I have decided to stop modicfying the car. I have added MANY aftermarket parts, and this car is the best I have ever owned, I will never sell it. Please SOA send this car soon. Cant you see how all of us are suffering? I know you guys are lurking out there somewhere.
P.S can you keep it under 30K?...............Please????!
Ok enough whining from me

I sold the Type-R because, unlike the Sube, I had payments to make on it even if I put the money from the RS into it. I would lose about another $2k on it between now and the time I sold it for the WRX.

Getting it in the first place was stupid.

The '87 Civic we owned anyway, so I didn't actually have to BUY that (thankfully).

Nick: I think you're going overboard with the way you feel about the i-Club. I think part of it is that it's getting bigger and with it getting bigger it attracts some people who might just not 'get it', you know? I felt the way you do a year or so ago. (this is going to sound like a brag, but...) I was one of the first people here in Seattle to own an RS. I was one of the first people on the original Checkpoint. This whole thing has blown up like crazy, but there are a lot of us around who were here in the beginning and it STILL feels cool to me. Stick with it.

[edit] Hey Sev, if you're reading, are you seriously selling your RS, or is that a joke?

Greg.
