Now I just gotta keep it lookin' pretty, buy a bed, and get a nicer pad Um... or a turbo... yeah... mmm... I can sleep on the floor a bit longer...

Almost there myself... only $12,000 left to pay on the 2000...... nearly there, I know!

My 2000 RS is all paid off, thanks to stafford loans, haha!! However, I'm gonna be slammed with over $100K in professional school loans very soon. My philosophy: Play now since I'll be in huge debt later anyway.

Hmmmmm. I went the el cheapo route. Considering that I wanted a turbo from the start, and would have to replace most of the drivetrain, I opted to buy a $2500 L, and scored bigtime with a mechanically perfect (but slightly rolled) 1999 RS donor for $3500.

I am doing an equity line on my condo to pay off some bills, but mainly to pay for turbo and such up front for my RS conversion! My max payment will be $250/month, over 15 years (if I let the loan go full term), but all the interest is tax deductible!

And, I can always get a roommate to help defray costs. That'd free up some money towards mods, and things like a nice TV and home theater setup, etc.

BTW, Mizen, what kind of engineering field do you work in? And what year did you buy your RS? I'm hypothesizing that you scrimped and saved to pay the car off ahead of schedule.

I *still* owe on my Neon. I refinanced in 96 I believe, to lower payments and such. Believe me, if I had it to do over, I would've payed it off early. Or better yet, have had some sense and looked at an Impreza when I was shopping around.

Dude, thanks for the kind words guys! Now I can race for pink slips Or course I'll get rolled by all you turbo guys, and all the 'type R' hondas... LOL!

DigitalBoy - Sounds like you found the best bang for the buck route - you'll probably manage to learn a bunch in the process too... I'm jealous.

I'm an Aerospace Engineer actually, badass... mmm, well I try my best on that one
I work in the satellite operations industry -it's pretty fun stuff

It pays well, but I've made my main priority over the last year and a half saving up front and making early payments on the MY00 RS.

Godzillong - I think that's a good philosophy dude, I can't tell you how many times I thought 'oh man, I'm broke, If I just paid this car off regular fashion, then I could spend this dough on myself instead of paying off my slow RS early...'

I guess you win no matter what you do - it's just a matter of perspective...
