Talking even NH people can have fun on 48hrs!

hi all,

i will make a more detailed post during the morning, but for now i'm going to be quick.

it's now 1:19am and i just got in from the 1500mi + drive. i again would like to thank everyone for a great time that myself and copilot had. i think the NH way of thinking has enlightened some people, just not sure if it was for the better. lol.

all you guys/gals were great, even if someone does wash their car too much.............lol the whole group did seem to be a fairly close nit group.

it was a blast..everyone shoulda came, we all had a great time.

im definatly planning on attending the next one. and i was glad i stuck around for the whole event instead of cutting out at Philly on the way back up from Cape May.

by the time i got home, my trip odometer said 612, i never reaset it on the trip other than the first gas stop 8 miles after my house, so it was 1,620 total miles driven...which puts me right on par with my next oil change..(just did one 3 weeks ago, lol)

oh, and sorry for the inconvenience with the clutch spring, lol..and the headlight eye-brow flying off at 80MPH.

Bat1161, i hope everything works out with the car..AZP needs to get new plugs in there for ya..dont let Paisan tack on the price of the leak-down tester onto your bill either! hahaha

i will put up more feedback later, im still in the middle of waking up and unpacking.

It was a great time, thanks to everybody who came along and came out to the meets - the people made the trip.

Just a side note that the trip has become very expensive for me since Pirelli decided to only make so many of my tire and then that is it for the season. So now instead of losing two tires I just lost the whole set of four and need to order four other tires - and I must say what is left out there doesn't impress me. I had to drive the Daewoo today at just a mention that a couple roads had ice. I am not sure that I want to bother with changing the tires again or just garage the STi for the season.

As great as those Pirellis were during the snow portion of our 4 season trip - if they can't keep a sufficient inventory to provide replacments for damaged tires I will never buy another Pirelli again and I have liked many of their tires over the year. It is just too expensive to buy 4 tires and if one is damaged you lose all four.

Sorry didn't mean to be a downer.

On a better note at least canada (n'ctrl) has had a few great first time experiences... I didn't think a grin could get that big.

Ed.

It was fun to meet up with you guys, even if it was just for the Canada portion. Paisan and I were talking about spending more time in Rochester next year and having a Dyno day at a local shop that is managed by a friend of mine.

hey jehcpa
the michelin pilot alpins are working great for me in all conditions.
just an FYI, you might want to try a set.

murry
you need an early warning system for the parts of your car that fly off at speed

Ed, Pirellis aren't known for snow tires... all reviews I've seen put them at the bottom of the pack. I'd try the Dunlop M3's or Bridgestone LM-22's the next time around. There's a new Pilot Alpin 2, but I haven't heard any reviews on it yet.

Thank RL, I agree that Pirellis haven't always had the best snow tires but the reviews there are of the 210's and 240's are pretty good and after the back road snow run we did I am fully convinced that they did a good job this time around with these particular tires. They did excellent on snow. On wet and dry they were very good and properly progressive for snow tires as well.

However given the seasonal manufacture and stocking issue which I would have never thought of before, I may need to find another alternative for the future. Luke at TR is bending over backwards to help me out - so hopefully it won't be as bad as I feared even if in the end I need to buy a new set of 4. M3s are out in my size, the LM22 and Alpine are the remaining alternatives, along with an Evo specific tire in the STi size that only lists for the Evo though.

nice to see all the new guys. I think the big jaw dropper was seeing the lifted wagen or better yet seeing it keep up with everyone. That thing was bad arse. Nice to see it was relatively uneventful other then eds tires. good thing me the doc and zephyr hadn't been to far from the shop. nice pics. Paisan love the 100,000 at 100.

Just want to thank everyone who made the trip possible, and for it to run smoothly...

1) NH Crew and RI Crew for travelling SOOOO far just to get to the start!

2) Canada for helping with the GPS, and co-driving the lead car.

3) Speedbuggy, The Doc and Zephyr and KevinWRX for their in route support for Ed's Tires

Overall the trip was amazingly smooth compared to previous years. It will only get smoother in the future. Next year's will run Jan 6-9, 2005! It was also real cool to meet new people, most of the people on the run never met before, but everyone bonded almost instantly!!!! It's great to hang with old friends and make new ones!

Anyone else I forgot to thank, you know who you are!

Also I think we should send all the checks directly to the family of Amarylis Lozada.

Pioneers MC
c/o Amarylis Fund

Just put a note with it saying it's from the 48hrs of Tri-state Subaru Organization.

Also let me know how much you send in, so we can get a grand total of how much we raised and who raised how much.

I just finished unpacking and uploading pics and such.
I had a blast on this trip, just like i thought i would. The "NH way of thinking" just made it even better! Hopefully I get my scoop sometime before i go back to school. (for everyone not on the trip...Inside Joke)
Nice meeting some new people and seeing my old friends too. We were all close by the first day of the trip which is sooo cool! Subie people ROCK!
Hopefully next year ya'll will see my car on the trip. I missed her too much to leave her at home again next year.
My pics aren't on the website but i just emailed them to Paisan so hopefully he will get them up on there.

I was glad I could join the pack, even if just to Rochester. Hopefully, next time we can get to Canada.

Looking forward to seeing you at future rallycross, autocross, drag, touring, meet, etc. action!
