Post High Speeds in the Impreza

Back when I was new to the board and considering an RS I posted a query about the RS's confidence at high speed. This is because I live in Chciago and make regular trips to my alma mater down in Bloomington, Indiana. I-65 between Chciago and Indinapolis generally runs fast, but my old car got downright scary over 90, so I was curious how an Impreza would behave.

This weekend I got the chance. I followed an old Porsche 924 from Chciago to Indy on Friday night through a light drizzle. I let him set the pace and just kept a respectable distance. He could speed up a lot faster than I could, but I was able to cruise with him between 95 and 110mph all the way to the city. I was more than happy with the Impreza's performance. It felt perfectly stable and relatively quiet the whole time.

I hope I can get some of the same driving in when I visit my folks in Colorado this July.

The point? None, really. I'm just enjoying my car.

I thought the stock Impreza was a little squirly at 90 plus. It seemed to drift to me if I remember correctly.

I switched to Yoko A520 (not recomended) whiteline adj rear sway bar (set at 20mm) the Rallispec STI V5 struts with progressive eibachs (rear progresive) (highly recomended) and the car is 100% better. I drive a fast everyday and the setup instills confidence.

For example a long sweeper that I used to push at 80 stock can now easily be navigated at 100. I dont have the b#$%^ to go faster in fear of jail if i get caught.

Well I love my impreza put out for a bar to start with then look at suspension options. My rallispec setup is now selling for 750 i paid 1050. It was a good deal at 1050.
