Default WRX heads/Cams with ej22 block

Ok I have a 99 L model with a NA ej22. Can I put the WRX heads and cams and turbo on this block and not have it explode at 20psi? I have read alot about the ej22t block and the ej25 heads/cams combo being very robust, do I have the same block in the ej22 as the ej22t? I ask because I don't have the money for the ej25, then the computer, the turbo etc. The wrx heads and cams on my block seems like a much cheaper and easier solution.

Thanks in advance from a newb!!

Unfortunately not, if you do a search, you'll see that the N/A ej22 is an open deck design, with cast internals, opposed to the forged internals (not pistons), and closed deck design of the ej22t. Hunt down a 91-94 legacy turbo sedan/wagon, and use that.

Here is WAC's very informative site...
