Congrats! I have the same car, same color.
Its like that dark black that has a red tone to it huh? I blacked out all the gold badging, removed the gold strips above the two tone along with the AWD sticker on the side. Put a hell of an audio system, tinted the 5 back windows, racks, and I am happy as can be. How many miles does your's have? Ed |

I dont have any pictures quite yet but I will send some to you when I take them.
It looks really nice without the stripes. If you want to black out the badges on the back buy a glossy black paint pen, sand down the gold badges, apply 3 coats letting each one dry fully and it looks nice and stealth. I still have that cheezy stripe on the roof with the limited label. I tried taking it off but it proved to be more difficult then I thought it would be. Everything else pulled off real easy. I have a dual voice coil Image Dynamics 10" in the back area and I still have plenty of room. |

tether, what did you load in your doors? i know componenets will fit in front, but the back is really shallow; will normal 6.5's fit? I'm putting my MTX thunder 6000 12" in back, and mounting the amp in the tirewell... [This message has been edited by sybir (edited March 16, 2001).] |

Great Picture! Hehe. Is that at UCSC?? Still haven't found a name for that college yet ehhh?? I went their one year and remember that place.
Yep, thats a spitting image of my car. I ended up putting Michelin Synnergy's on it and it drastically improved its road noise and ride comfort (especially over small bumps) They are a little soft but so much better all around then those crappy XW4's I had. I have a Kicker componant system up front called the Resolution's. They are 6.5" and I was able to mount the tweeters behind the factory tweet grilles. I also have Kicker RS6 2-way in the back for fill. A Pioneer DEH 8200 deck, and a Sony 7557 Amp, with 50X4 and 200X1 RMS.. Its damn long and I had to mount in on the back right hand seat. Ed |

aye, it's UCSC
my apartment is about 30 feet from there as soon as I wear out these tires, I'm gonna put some speedline 17's on, and I'm gonna talk to ground control about a set of threaded sleeves with more adjustment so that I could put FHI inverted struts (strong and cheap) and only lower it 2 inches or so, so I'll still have some ground clearance... hmm, you put your amp on the seat? I'm going to pull out the tray on the spare tire well and fab an amp rack so I can hide it better, and still be able to fold down the seats to throw stuff in; I've got an xplod 225HX (just a sub amp) so i'll have space under a seat or something in front for a 4ch component amp, or at least that's the plan. I'm trying to decide whether I want to use the 12" i have now; I could integrate a 10" much better into the left hand side panel, and it'd prolly still be loud....it's a lot louder with the sub in the car with you, eh? |
