Issues with 1997 Legacy GT we did a obd2 scan and came up with 5 codes.

1. o2 sensor circuit malfuction (Bank #1 Sensoe #2)

2. Clynder #1 Misfire Detected

3. Clynder #3 Misfire Detected

4. Clynder #4 Misfire Detected

5. Enhance DTC ( See Service Manuel)

What does all this mean. Can anyone help.

Means either an O2 sensor is bad, or you have a problem with the ECU (meaning, it could have a connection problem). If that was my engine, depending on milage and the such, I would just get it rebuilt. Or swap an EJ25T in...

Chances are that the O2 sensor is gone. Its a little sensor on the catalitic converter that adjusts fuel (I beleive). The same thing (check engine light on) happened on my 99 outback when the humidity was really high for a week or so.

If your O2 sensor is bad, the ECU will make bad adjustments to fuel ratios, etc. and it will sense that the cylinders are "misfiring".

You should have two O2 sensors, one before your first cat, and one after the second (If exhaust is stock). I would guess it's the second one that's bad. Make sure the wires are all plugged in, and if so, then replace it. You can probably do it yourself, from what I hear it's simple. Just make sure you look at it first and get an O2 sensor that has the same number of wires and type of connector as the one under your car. Use a flare nut wrench if you have access to one, and I believe it's 22mm.

They make generic ones that are cheaper, if you want to do a lil' wiring yourself. Do a search and you should come up with some instructions for doing this.

Anyone think he should replace both of them? I've got 120K on my GT, '97 as well, and haven't needed to replace mine.
