Question Will 235/35R18's fit a WRX sedan?

I just picked up a set of Prodrive PFF7's in 18x8 with 225/45R18's which will need to be replaced in the future. I have yet to use these wheels since we currently are in the middle of getting about 6-10" of snow. I also have Koni inserts and Perrin springs which lower the car about 1.9" in front and about 1.5" in the back, but also stiffens up the suspension quite a bit. I currently run 215/45R17's in the winter and have had zero rubbing issues. I was wondering if anyone has tried 235/35's with a similar suspension set-up. Do the tires rub? Is the ride awful because of the small sidewall?
Thanks

225/45R18? The size we use is 225/40R18 not a 45. You may have issues with a 45 profile

Cheers

Ok, they are 40's. Sorry. I was asking about the 235's, not the 225's please.

235/40? Do you really think they will fit ok with my suspension and not cause any rubbing issues?
Thanks.

Well - the 225/40/18 size is bigger than the stock wheel setup as far as circumference goes. It's not recommended to go 235s due to it being that much bigger and throwing off the speedo even more.

I can say almost positively that if you have the proper offset 8" wide wheels (48mm offset +/-3mm), those tires will not rub and they will work great. What tires would you use, though? There's not many tires in that size. If I had some 18x8" wheels and I could find some good 235/35 18 tires, I'd probably go with that combo, too. What size are your wheels and what offset?

The PFF7's are 18x8 with a 51mm offset. I could not find any tires in 235/35, but there are plenty in 235/40. I was thinking of the Azenis, but if I went with a 40 sidewall, wouldn't that throw off the speedo compared to a 235/35?

No, you will be fine, the difference is negligable. The difference between the 35 and 40 will be a lot more comfort and more protection for your wheels.

225/40/18 overall diameter is only couple of mm bigger than stock, so the speedo should not be affected hugely (if at all)..

well i believe 225/40 is the best size for 18 on the wrx..
