Post 130mph @ 5000rpm?

I asked this before but it was more like (118 @ 4700rpm ). Since then I added I custom intake, same as Larry's only I made it myself, stock filter, and a cheep Foccuz muffler. Ok, so here's the story me and my friend went on a little trip and had the chance to get the car up to speed a little bit. I never got it past 120 before so I just went with it and held the gas down. Well, it got up to 130-132 and still going with a 1000 left till redline. I was shocked but I was to scared to go any faster.

So I did a little test, I put the stock intake back on (had it in the trunk) and reset the ECU. On the way back it would not pull past 119mph.

here's what I got:
MY01 2.5RS
4EAT
250+250lbs (we're big guys,no fat jokes or I'll sit on you!)

Let me know what you think.

Speed kills!!!

This is where a 5" autometer tack comes in handy.

Did I mention my friend was scared out of his mind. And this guy drives a 10sec mustang.

gasser - Coming to the meet at my place next weekend? See the midwest forum.

BTW, 5750-5800RPM in 5th in a manual trans RS is 130mph. (just read you had an auto... *shrug* never rode in an auto that fast)

I took my auto almost all the way to redline and the speedo needle was pretty much pointing down at about 5500 rpm. I have a custom made ram air intake, NGK plugs, Synthics engine oil and thats it. Me personally i think the autos seem to have have a higher top speed than the 5 speed, and they only have 4 gears.

I think i and 3 other RSes were at about 125 going up to Pocatello last year.

My auto was purring at about 4800RPM, as i didn't want to make the RS drivers feel too bad.

Oh, and my speedo goes to 140

Try to borrow a GPS unit from a friend so you can check your speed after 120 My $79 Magellan will show my speed with a +/- 3mph deviated.

My 1997 OBS doesn't show any speeds higher than 120mph. The speedometer gets pegged on the odometer.
