Its not like the guy will actually sell it to whoever offered the $14K. It says the reserve was not met. Like that was a suprise! I'd still rather have my $6,500 Pulsar GTi-R. Either way I can't take it back with me and I won't be here long enough to really enjoy it. I wonder why he didn't list it on QXL? QXL is the largest European online auction house.

Sorry Mike. So do you want to by my Primera? Then I can get the Pulsar. Hopefully I can get one by the end of the month. I am going to agree to stay here until spring now. Hey if it really bothers you then right your congressman and b^tch at him or her. You won't likely get a response from them but you can at least try. Maybe someday they will allow the grey import market.

What engine does the Pulsar use? Also, No thanks, the G20 is available in the US, plus a Primera isn't worth shipping all this way.(I don't actually live in West Boemfugk, Egypt)Sorry, but it's true.LOL.

Edit: I still can't spell Boemfugk.

The Pulsar SSS uses the SR20DET -- the turbocharged version of the engine you can pick up today at your neighborhood Nissan dealer in a Sentra SE. Same engine is in the ol' Sentra SE-R and 200SX SE-R.

Lots of SE-R folks swap an imported SR20DET in for the normally aspirated SR20DE stock engine, and lots more use parts from the DET to build aftermarket turbos. They've gotten good results, but you've still got a FWD powertrain (which is why I haven't done this to mine). Nobody's converted to AWD, probably because chassis differences make it prohibitively expensive.

Mike, there are AWD turbo Primeras overseas. Don't be so quick to assume that N/A's car is just a G20.

Aw crap! Not only did I spell my own made up town wrong, I also forgot to put that I was joking. I know about the AWD Primeras, just like I know about most cool cars the US will never have! I'm going to see what the possibilities would be for importing a Pulsar as well as the Primera. I'm betting that the Primera will probably be easier since its chassis is pretty much the same as the US G20. I'm sure that with the proper modifications I can make it pass emissions too. I know that there's a lot more involved than that, but, hell, I gota try sometime.

BTW, how much US money would you be willing to sell your Primera for N/A?

The prob with the G20 is there is nowhere to run the driveline or the added room that the tranny takes up. The G20 was a totally different floor pan and rear end. There aren't even the same mounting points as the FWD Japanese model. I compared the 1.8L FWD Primera to my car and I can't see anyway to do it with out using almost all of the orignal AWD Primera. Unfortunately nobody can import the damn thing to the US. Not even Motorex wants to. Hell they won't even do the Pulsar. If you are moving this way you can get my Primera off of me for $5K. You could get a 2.0L turbo engine and tranny in the US for around $2K though. It will still only be FWD. If you want a trubo and AWD your choices in the US are very limited.

Mike, just cheer up and write to Mazda to ask if they are going to put the AWD Protege or 626 into production. They had a Protege turbo AWD at this years auto show called the Street Concept 2002. I think they are going to release it as a 626 based car though. It is rumored to be a WRX competitor. Right em and ask. If they think their is enough interest then we might see it. They are going to release a new RX7. Hey maybe the Forester or the Legacy will see the H6 also.

Ahhhhhh....I doubt it. AWD turbo is pretty much dead in the US. Maybe I'll stick a DSM drivetrain into a Mirage and give it an EVO body kit. I'm sure that with my resources I could accomplish that. Plus, there's still hope for a Supercharged Legacy. I'm still waiting to find out if the SVX's engine will fit in a current Legacy. I guess I'm just pissed that I don't get to have this:

Well, they ARE! If not, they sure look like it. I'm no expert, but looking at all these fake new Impreza pictures has taught me a few things, and this picture looks kinda doctored. Is this a current production model or what? I'm not trying to be smart, or anything, I really don't know.

That's no Nissan! It's the new 2002 Impreza WRX 3-door! What a great spy pic! You can tell by the wheels!

Subaru and Nissan shares a few similar things. I think the interior doors are the same. Check out the door tweeters of our cars and their cars!

Mike, I take it you got the Pulsar pic out of the new brochure? The new hatchbacks look alot like the new Civic hatchbacks. I stopped off at the Nissan dealership on the way home yesterday. Mostly to drool over the car. Trust me that pic you posted is dead on with what they look like in person. The rims that were on it were different though but the style in the pic are available as an option. The new Pulsars aren't cheap though. I don't think I will give them $19K for one when I can get a 1997 model for $6,500 and up until this year there hasn't been any serious changes to it. You'd have a tough time telling a MY97 from a MY00. The newer model has a slightly better interior also. Call me a trader if you want but I'd rather have the used Pulsar then a MY02 turbo.

I love that car. I really do. I like the fact that those rims look like a Scooby's, cuz the Scooby's got nice wheels. If you can get a 1997 model for $6500, that means it has poor resale, another reason not to get a new one. Either way, it's a cool car. I've already destroyed 2 keyboards with my drool.
