Cool now i know why they're called exotic (no, not the dancers)

i take auto tech classes at a community college and today we got a '84 Masaratti biturbo. pretty slick. 2L V6 w/parallel turbos making [email protected] it had a really nice cockpit. the shifter was really solid and the pedals were perfect feel wise and position. nice small, 3-spoke steering wheel w/o an airbag. real nice. a real pain in the a$$ to work on though. just finding a place to put the lift on was hard (we ended up using 2x4s b/c of the exhaust hanging down) and thank god i didn't have to change the oil. i wouldn't even know what to take off first just to get to the filter! the turbos were buried too. we were doing an alignment/tire balance. of course it wasn't in the computer and the specs were in mm instead of degrees for the toe! not to mention the the caster was over 11 degrees!!! and no power steering! the wheels were only 14s but they had brakes that would rival ours on there! incredible car.

just thought i'd share my italian exotic story and its moral. if you have the money to buy one, you have the money to pay someone to take care of it.
