Post Dealerships?

So Toby isn't at Diablo Mazda Subaru anymore. Old news. But my wheel bearing is failing, and frankly, I dont trust everyone else at DMS.

So my question is: Where else can I take my scooby? Santa Cruz seems a bit far to me as I live in Martinez (70 miles or so to SC).

Ideally, whoever I take it to I would like to have them take a look at my pressure plate as I've got pretty serious chatter when the car is cold.

Not to mention the nasty noise on startup - it may just be heat shield, but I'd like someone to REALLY look at it, which DMS doesn't.

It's probably also worth noting that I have coil overs, so a 'mod friendly' dealership is pretty much required. Has anyone dealt with Livermore sube for service issues?

I've been taking my car and my wife's Outback to Livermore. I've been very satisfied with their service. Most has been for routine maintenance, and a couple times for warranty issues...nothing major.

I can't tell you if they're mod friendly or not, but they seem to be pretty clueless when I ask about Subaru performance stuff.

I know 70 miles seems far but just think of saving 20-40 miles and having to go back a few times.... At Santa Cruz they also covered a rental and changed it all without fuss. They are also a mercedes service place and the techs are good, no shade tree types that i know of. Besides, for major work like that what is an hour drive... Call the different dealers and tell them about tthe chatter and see if they say "oh ya, well get that covered" or "thats a wearable item and we'll have to tear it apart and inspect it...". Its a known issue, they should merely have to drive the car, everywhere else gave me the run-around.
