Talking OTish: Heading to Australia maybe within the year...places to go? Parts to buy?

Hello everyone...

Just learned this weekend that my family may be planning on taking me on a "family vacation" to Australia some time this year, probably at winter break.

By then, I'm hoping my car stays intact and doesn't drain any more of my money, so I may have some cash to play with. Keyword being "may", because I still have to pay for a suspension install/alignment.

I know we have some Aussie refugees on this board...can anyone tell me where to go to find cool stuff that won't set me back a mint? I'm hoping I have about $500 to spend by that time, but I'm going to have to look into getting a job other than smashing fences and hauling stuff to the dump.

Anyone hiring?

Oh, and thanks if you can provide any help.

Isn't 'Ownly' in AUS or NZ? Maybe you could
hook up with him. Possibly ride in his RSKB4.

Just a thought....

If you're in Sydney, take the train out to MRT in Ryde. I took a train from Central Station, and a bus out to Ryde to go and visit the people at MRT. They were super nice to me and they let me wander around their shop. Make sure you go upstairs to where all the "goods" are on display. I would have bought something like a sway bar or STB, but it would have been too bulky for me to carry back on the bus and train! Besides, I was spending a month in Australia and traveling around carrying a long sway/strut bar would be really inconvient! Ahh, oh well, maybe next time!

Contact someone in the WRX club down there, see if you can hitch a ride for one of their meets.

If your gonna be spending any time in WA (Western Australia) let me know, I've spent quite a bit of time out there this last year.

Thanks a lot guys...looking forward to the trip...and having a Brown University ID with me won't hurt a whit either...

I think I'm going to be around Sydney and Melbourne for the most of it. Guess I'll see. But I am going to carry with me an extra empty duffel bag for some goodies. If I have some extra cash I'll get a few extra things and offer em up here.

Thanks again!
