Question STI Shifter Or Syms????

Which one should i get, i Just can't decide.
I won't be able to try them before i buy. I do alot of highway miles and i can't stand the Stock loose shifter. I really like the feel of the stock shifter on the BMW325is...
any help or comparisons??? Also..the syms is a little expensive.

I have a SYMS shifter and have tried STi, Kartboy lever + bushings, etc. - it's definitely the smoothest of them all. *snick* *snick* *snick*

*BUT*, yes, it's expensive. And the throw, while very short, is not as short as the kartboy. But it just feels a lot more refined IMHO. The Kartboy and STi shifters are more notchy - you can feel the shift gates pretty well. For highway driving and around-town stuff I personally like my SYMs unit more... it just feels more like I'm driving a refined GT car versus the STi unit, where I felt like I was racing every time I shifted to get started at stoplights.

It's a matter of preference. I think Challenger Deep has a good description of both and their differences on their web site. www.challengerdeep.com. Whether it's worth the price premium, well, that's something you'll have to decide. I think I've justified it in my mind now that I've paid off the credit card bill on it.
