Post Letter from SOA about MY01

Dear Gerry:

Thank you for visiting the Subaru Web site, and for your order of a 2001 Impreza 2.5RS. The 2001 Impreza RS models are not available in Yellow. I will, however, forward your suggestion to our Product Planning Department for their review and considertion.

New for the 2001 RS models is the color option Black Diamond Pearl. Standard equipment for the 2001 RS models will now include carbon fiber patterned interior trim on the center dash vent grille, radio bezel, and center console shifter bezel. Also new for the 2001 RS are a single disc CD Player, and 2.5 RS embroidered floor mats.

Best wishes!!

John J. Mergen

Thats wierd...I have a MY00 and I have 2.5RS embroidered floor mats...or does he mean "also new for 2001", as in, new because it is a standard issue now and not an option?

Scoobyshag - it was an option. And you know what is even sillier. The dealer charge to *install* floormats is 65 dollars.

I think that "also new for" means that they are also standard on the MY01. I think that now the fake carbon fiber is standard, as are the single disk CD player and the floor mats. I think that "center dash vent grille" is the area around the air vent in the middle of the dash.

Yes, I saw a 2001 4 door today. It had the full carbon fiber trim treatment. I am ot quite certain if I like it or not. Otherwise it looked exactly like a MY00.
