Post Wagon vs Sedan

Hello. I am new to the group and I have finally found the car to replace my aging Mitsu Galant VR4....a WRX!....I have got a deposit on a Black Wagon. The problem I am having is that I am a sedan person but now that I have a 7 month old son the Wagon makes a lot more sense (and was an easier sell to my wife.)As a consolation, from what I have heard the Wagon is a better handling car. Can anybody shed some hands on experience with regards to the handling of the sedan vs the wagon? Thanks!

For the WRX, no one has compared the two yet (of the new generation). However, the differences seem very small - the fender flares are only on the sedan, but the wagon is more balanced, albeit heavier - the extra weight is the extra glass and metal in the rear of the wagon.

I dunno - I've always liked wagons and I think they're every bit as good as sedans, if not better!

edit: ps, I drive a coupe.

The wagon is sooo much more usable and for the less than 50KG/105lbs and better balance...you can "change track widths if needed. Don't forget the "auto" if you have plans over 300 HP.

I am a big fan of wagons in general. My two previous cars were AWD civic wagons. I would have got a wagon if they made an RS version in MY00.
I waited until MY00 just to get a sedan, and then they don't put fold down seats in it until MY01! And now there is a WRX wagon. Sometimes you can never win!
I say get the wagon.

I think we are getting a tad off topic. the question is asking handling. My question would be, does the extra sheetmetal make it topheavy. I would think it would be so minor, and if true the added weight Joel pointed out would make it better balanced would be a nice touch.

I say go with the wagon. It would be the total sleeper as you could easily match any vehicles performance in a sta wag.
