Talking OT: My Company's Site Launched!

Well, I now own a web development company (1/3 anyway). Pretty sad, but it took us like 3 months to get our own site published. But, client needs kept coming before our's.

Our Splash page (the first page you see) still needs some help (waiting on the graphics company), but the rest of the site came together pretty well.

Once I get my car back, I plan on creating Jeff.WeDoWebStuff.com, which will become a site for my car.

Anyway, I was hoping to get some opinions from you guys. Thanks!

Jeff Handley

Site is look in pretty good there, I want to wish you the best in this whole thing. This kind of work can be very lucrative if you can get the business. I got started into that whole mess here in Dayton, building a site for the Air Force (more fun than you can shake a stick at).

I read about your tragedy here on the boards, but was in a lurking mood at the time. I want to extend my sincere condolences for your loss.

Hope everything works out for you, and I hope to see you at some events once you get your car back and I get some free time. FYI, I will be moving back down to Cincy here in the winter - after the wedding (only 12 more days of freedom!!!) so I think that I can be a little more active down there - I know how I am missed.

Well, best of everything to you,

Cool... Good luck man. I know when I wanted to do my own company it was tough (eventually I gave up), but looks like you've got a good enough style to make it. ExpressClose is a nice clean site with good navigation (though you used an antiquated javascript for the rollover), QuestRecruiting is an overall nice site, ImOnTheTee is overall nice, though slightly clunky in appearance it is good in design. Your site is nice, though a little slow and slightly hard to navigate.

Well, not meaning to get you down or anything... You've got a lot of potential for sure, just offering a little constructive criticism. Good luck in the buisness, I hope you find a few of those customers you need to update their site daily for them so you get steady income and that you find a few that want really big expensive sites.

Looks pretty good.

Under the -Stuff we've done I have a suggestion.

I think you should make the scrollbar stand out a little more. Since it's relatively easy to throw together a website, your clients probably wont be the most comfortable computer users. It took me a minute to find the scrollbar and think many of your clients may not be able to find it. Just something to think about....

Thanks for the constructive criticism--that's what I was looking for.

I will admit, the ImOnTheTee.com site needs a little help with its appearance. But since we're not making any money off if it, we didn't want to spend the money to have our graphics company do the design for us.

SilverSuby--good point. Maybe we could add a little text next to the scrollbar saying something like "click here to scroll". That might help.

Thanks again guys,
