Default Why is HKS Up/Downpipe no good?

I saw alot of HKS Uppipes and downpipes on Ebay for a relatively cheap price. $140 for an Up, and $280 for both Up and Downpipe.

Then I went ahead and ask if these are good, and they all say it's not as good as Perrin or Helix.
Why is it not good? What are the pro's? Do they leak or something? I thought HKS was a good brand?!

And if I add a Helix uppipe along with my Axleback, how much gain do I get?
And how much are installations usually?

HKS downpipes are neither bellmouth nor divorced wastegate type.
Basically it's like a stock downpipe without the cats, the wastegate gases have to make a 90deg turn to join the rest of the exhaust gases.

people who hate HKS becuase it's a Japanese brand I guess some people reported uppipe leak with it, same as Subydude's or some others..

downpipe-- they favor the bell mount DP design, so they may again claim that HKS design is no good... cause HKS uses the stock DP design which blocked the wastegate exit.

I personally think, if u're not going to get 300 whp, don't worry about HKS, it's good for the money.... just make sure 200% that the shop swapped a brand spanking new UP gasket for you and tighten them.

HKS DP is more restrictive than the other brands. less airflow less gains

i say save up for something better. full bellmouth or divorced wastegate design is best for downpipe. but i don't know enough about uppipes though because mine was a 1-piece design with my exhaust manifold
