I am looking at buying a 2001 Blk Legacy GT Limited. Was wondering what everone here thinks is a good price and any good advice to help talk down the price.

6% over invoice should work... When my mom got her White GT Limited w/ auto, they wouldnt accept 3% over... so she went with 6, which ended up being under $25k.

I was thinking of trying late next month. The dealership by my house has a blk GT Limited that has been on there lot for about 2 months now and has not moved... has on 14 miles on it. God it is so sweet. They are asking 25 for it right now. Do you thinks I it is posible to get them down to 22.

If you would be interested, and can get me the equipment on the car I will spec it out at work and send you what factory invoice is, since you are in CA, I doubt I could convince you to drive all the way out to NC to buy it from me LOL. Let me know if I can help!

I can tell you there is not chance you can get to twenty two, that would be less than invoice though I am not sure exactly what it is off the top of my head I know it to be in the twenty-three's.

Go to Kelly Blue Book and look up the invoice price on a new GT and the price of all the options you want. (If there are cashbacks, they will be listed on the site as well.) Offer the dealer $500 over invoice price - Rebate.

You know what the dealer paid for the car. All you're negotiating now is how much of your money you're going to give him for having prepped it for you.

(Apologies Yebokmj - but a Mini is still a sale! )When negotiating, negotiate only on price. Don't even look at the monthly payment they're showing you -- the manager just pulled that number out of his ass anyway -- the final price of the car and the finance rate determines the monthly payment. The ONLY thing you are interested in when negotiating is the price of the car. Period.

Ideally, you've gotten pre-approved for a loan anyway, so those monthly numbers are even less realistic.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have q's on the negotiation stuff... I sold cars for a little over two years. I really need to put out a web page on this...
