You found either:

1) an ignorant dealer / salesperson

2) a dealer that is attempting to sell as many cars they CURRENTLY have instead of having customers wait a while for the Impreza turbo (meaning they intentionally misled you)

Tell that sales rep, or whoever, that he is a lying sack of *****, who is only trying to sell as many 01's as possible!

And you don't even have to ask him, because I already know that stupid ***** like this could have only been pulled out of his a$$!

...OK, from now on lets leave the rumors and speculation to performance and pricing.
The car is coming this spring/summer!!...it's a done deal!

Can you ask that dealer to put me down for a Yellow Wagon please. The dealer near my house won't even start a list (not many inquiries).

Also, ask your dealer to contact Ernie (He'll know who) and have them tell Ernie that there's interest for Yellow Wagons.

I hope they get here in time for auto-x season...

I would make sense that the dealer would try to sell cars he has on the lot already. Otherwise he may or may not get the sale when the new moddels roll in.
This is exactly what was happening when I was shopping around for cars last year VW dealers were giving me he run around as to when the 1.8T Jetta's and Golf's would be rolling out (it ended up being the beginning of this year) so I ended up getting my RS.

I talked to the Subie lady rep person at the NYC auto show, & she also said the new Imp would be introduced at the Detroit Auto Show.

I'm also making plans to go see the show this year, I've always wanted to go. It would be cool if a bunch of us went together (even if we get separated, like when we all went to the LA show).
