Post Anyone try the clear Subaru fog light protectors?

99-2001 RS Fog Light Protectors (Reference #10806)
Protect your fog lights from road debris. To protect headlights and corner lights,
please purchase #10803. RS Models ONLY!
Price: $14.95 (Excluding: Wa. Tax if WA. Res.)

Saw this part on subaruparts.com and thought it might be a practical (though not quite as cool) alternative to the STI fog lamp covers. Has anyone had experience with these? Would they hold up to the heat of brighter bulbs (PIAA)?
Check them out at: http://www.subaruparts.com/acatalog/...avers_387.html

Hey cool, I was just about to ask the same question! $15 sounds like a great deal!

Hmmmmm... I don't have the headlight ones, but I have the foglight ones my car. They work great so if these are anything like them, they should work beautifully. (and $15 isn't much in case they end up crappy either)

Edit: Doh! Got confused by the pic of the headlight ones. Yes, the foglight covers work GREAT and you barely notice them.

I've got both the clear plastic and the large STi style covers. You can see them at:

In the mods section. These clear ones are different though. The ones you are reference ing is more of a vinyl type. From what I understand if you have higher wattage bulbs you run the risk of overheating the lamp because the vinyl ones hold in the heat.
