Question Those of you who have delt with NOS...

For anyone out those currently running a NOS kit, i am going to order mine soon but would like to know about the precautionary methods that will be necessary when installing/running this kit. I am planning on running no more than a 50shot MAXXX and would like to hear any tips on ignition timing or anything else necessary to run this kit as safely as possible. I've got a MY00 with all of the standard N/A mods but still not S-AFC or ITC. Will these be needed?? I did a search but came up empty handed . Thanks in advance for any help!

You will want additional fuel enrichment when the nitrous is on. Some kits come with an additional injector, some have a fuel pressure riser, some have both. If the kit has neither, keep looking.

Talk to Trey Cobb, he should be able to set you up with everything you need. As I've said in other NOS discussions, you would be wise to install an exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge and most impreza tuners recommend placing it very near cylinder #3. Get some baseline EGTs before you install the nitrous, and test/tune it afterwards in a NON-RACE environment.

If this is too much for you, I'd suggest that you forget about nitrous.

Hey Rimmie:

FYI: Trey Cobb used to run nitrous! Not too many people know this, but he used to have a black 98 or 99 that he ran a 70 shot on! Then he totalled it. I saw the pics...not pretty!

Anyhoo, call him at 972-771-1555 I plan on working with him on my kit also...
