Default Performance Chips

Can you experts out there direct me to a good performance chip for my '03 RS? I want to know what my options (if any) are. And how you fair with what you are using.

Can I use the ones for a WRX, because that's all I keep finding?

There are no RS chips. WRX ones will not work. There are only the proecm and the JC sports torque thingy, and they technically are not "chips".

You can use a Unichip that has a RS map on it. These however are used only on the vey VERY hot RS, 240-260 CHP. Rallitek has an RS with 161 whp with a Unichip.

So what does that mean if I try to use a Unichip? I spent a whole $350 on performance mods.

you need to spend a couple grand on top of your $350 unfourtionetly.

my question is this: will a unichip hook up to a RS without problem? Ron @axis can tune just fine. The only issue on this front would be getting the thing to work with an RS computer.

I have a JC Sports Torque II on my 4EAT RS. I bought and installed it 4 years ago and it has run flawless since. No outstanding performance gains but it does give you some new found top end power.

Sorry to come off sounding naive, but what is top end power?
Is that high rpm's or the higher gears?

The top end power that I am referring to is increased power say in 3rd or 4th gear (automatic) on the highway when passing, etc. This was where the only noticeable gains are. Peg it at 70 mph and it will downshift to 3rd (auto) and pull real hard all the way up to 100+ mph. I hope that explains it.
On a foolish note: I had the needle well into the black part of the speedo under the odometer late one night with the only mods being, the chip, intake, and ngk coppers. That was at 6000 ft of altitude, I estimate it to be around 130-135mph. So there is another example of the gains in top end power.
