Cool Nirtous or Turbo?

I've heard good things about JC Sports' turbo but I've been thinking about going nitrous instead. Does anybody have any experience with nitrous, can the hp be regulated by the spray nozzle? I realize it's not as versitile as a turbo but I'm not sure I want to make as many mods to the engines as a turbo requires.

Don't go nitrous. While it is cheaper, it's tougher to keep long term reliability for your engine. It's also not that nice an experience to drive with the laughing gas.

At least you know the turbo's always there.

I agree, I'd put the nitrous money away in the turbo fund.. The nitrous may seem cheap at first, but if you use it regularly you'll be going thru a lot of money on refills, and still won't have power all the time (for instance: windy road 10kms long. turbo means lotsa fun, nitrous means short spurts of fun every now and then, but making sure you don't use it all up)

WEX is right, of course some folks like Kevin Thomas run a turbo and nitrous and do so for an extended period of time and make liars out of us nay sayers. In general nitrous is great for extracting a magical 100 more HP out of a race engine you rebuild every few runs anyway but not a good solution for a street vehicle. A turbo, when properly done, is a very relieable and driveable addition.

Thumbs down

Nitrous is too much like playing a video game because you can only press the A button so many times until it runs out, then the car feels slow for the rest of the level.
