Thanks for the reply all, but a few questions still persist. Will I need any additional wiring for the WRX engine? And how easy is it to get the VVT added to the WRX engine. From what I understand, the valve train is the same, but does it have the secondary cam gear for higher RPM. Please tell me if I'm way off cause still learning shop talk. And if I do a cold air setup, will I need a fuel pressure riser for the 2.5L or EJ20? Oh, and who can i get to buy my current 2.5L, I only have 8800 miles on it, and will prob have around 12000 by the time I'm ready to do the swap. I don't really want to just junk it.

1: (more wireing) big YES.. you will need ALL the wiring + the ECU, its all differnt
2: (vvt) dunno, don't think any one knows, too soon
3: (fuel pressure) 2.5+cold air=no
2.0 swap no but you may need a better fuel pump
4: Dunno

1. depends on what motor you get/want. As far as I know, there are no LHD STi cars..all are RHD as far as I know. Now, that doesn't mean you can't get a 280 hp motor like the V4, 5, and 6 STi's have...there are non-STi motors that make 280 as well. But, these are very very very hard to find, and I don't know how to tell the difference without a full teardown. In short, the wiring harness needs to be coplete 100%, as does the ecu...you will be cutting a splicing it, getting it to reach everything on your LHD car.

2. In theory, the VVT head can be made to work, bt from what I know, it is ecu related too. Basically, I don't see how you are going to find a VVT motor and ecu for anything less than around $12,000 (without tranny probably). These motors are bran new for this year - if you wait t out a few years, they will be in the marketplace I am sure.

3. At the very least, you will need the STi pump if you go with an Sti motor. I don't know if the RS one is the same or not...it may be,,,you would have to cross reference part numbers, etc.

4. the oly person I could see buying it is someone looking to do a built up Ej25 with minimal downtime to their existing motor...I am sure you can sell it, just don't expect big big bux (maybe $2,000).
