Default Trying to help my G-pa with 17" wheels...

he has an 04 WRX Wagon color is black

I have read through the FAQ's and it seems that he is on the right track (see email below), except for that it seems the 17"x7.5" would fit. Will the tire size he wants (225/45/17) work with 7" or 7.5" wide wheels. And I found that for for 7" he needs +50-+53 offset and if he gets 7.5" he needs +47-+50 offset. Any opinions of info would be great.

here is the email he sent me

This is a link to Tire Rack for 17" wheels. I have selected several possibilities. Alphabetically they are: ASA JS1, BBS RK, Mille Miglia MM 11-3, Mille Miglia Spyder II, O.Z. Crono Evolution, and Sport Edition Fox 2. My favorite is SSR GT7, but they are too pricey and are the only 17/7.5 and may lead to wheel rubbing if not carefully configured and mounted. What your choices and recommendations? I am going to buy Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S 225/45/17 tires which are the most highly rated all-weather ultra high performance tire for sport cars. Do you agree with the tire selection? Do you know of other web vendors who may have better prices and or services?
Thanks for your help."

Default Rots

If he likes the SSR's but finds them too spendy, show him the Rota knock offs. They are cheaper and look almost as good.

$650 for all 4. Read the forums there or search here for more pics of them.

Edit: BTW i run 225/45/17 on 17/7.5 Rotas on my Wagon, no rubbing.

You could even get everything from SubyDude I run the FALKEN Ziex ZE-512 he offers on my AWD Talon, and on the GF's Turbo Jetta. The whole setup would be much cheaper.
