Could anyone tell me:
A. What RPM should my 85 GL idle at.
B.Where in the heck is the idle adjust screw?

BTW it is a carb. equiped car.

I think its like 700 manual tranny and 800 automatic. Should say under the hood (on the labels on it)

Its hard to remember how hitachis work... but there may be a screw which more or less pushes the little cam that the throttle cable pulls on so that it doesnt let it close more than a certain amount.

If its idling too low you could always just tighten up the throttle cable afew turns too (not really a cure, but could work as a temporary fix) The car SHOULD be able to idle with no throttle connected up to it at all.

There is an idle mixture screw on the front of the carb. I think mechanics had to drill out part of the body to get to it is a rumor I heard, but all the carbs I had always had it accessable. Its a flathead screw bottom center on the carb.
