Post Good question...

As an H-6 swap is one option I was (still am?) looking at, I would say that if you aren't goin to swap the harness and run the stock H-6 ECU, the SDS EFI EM-4 6F is the next best bet from a cost/simplicity point of view. If you have more cash, anders8 commented that he would use a motec.

As for maps, I believe the SDS comes with a rough base map based on the application. As for other brands of EMS, I think you're operating in virgin territory...

All SDS ecus come with a base map that will alow you to start the car without changing anything. The more info you can give them the better your basemap should be. I almost got an SDS for my car, but Jaxx kinda got me interested in the TEC 3.

I have seen TEC 2s in the 6cyl config go on ebay for fairly cheap.

One thing I didnt like about the SDS is you have to use the little controll box to tune, no lap top. Its kinda nice not to carry a laptop in your car, but that little box woudl be very hard to tune off. THe display is fairly small.

I am not an expert on motors at all, and I have gotten my car to run fairly decent now with my TEC 3, but I did get a base map from a WRX and mod it to work with my EJ22T.

The SDS always runs on closed loop, while with the tec you can change it to run in open loop like at low RPM and then at high RPM.

Does the SDS run off phased or full sequencial?
