Default header question

I am thinking of doing new headers for my 99rs.

I was wondering what the options are the best, I want more power but i am not sure i am willing to sacrifice that subaru exhaust sound. I've heard that the equal lenght headers tend to sound more honda'ish if thats the right way to describe it

When I put my borla's on, it made it sound more like a muscle car rather than a honda. Do you have a cat back exaust already? Intake?

Go for the Borlas! You probably will not like the sound of the equal length headers. You'll get more power too boot.

Personally, I'll sacrifice sound for the ridiculous amount of low end torque of an equal length though. Maybe the sound could be offsetted or changed based on what type of muffler you use.

Just have custom dual exhauasts made, that way you keep the sound, and still have the performance... more $$$ but you get best of both worlds

if you want a compromise, i've heard nothing but great things about the sound of the brullen headers, and they give a ton of power to boot, gteched at 15 whp gain, the lifetime warrenty isn't to shabby either, but their a little pricy, but imo the power gains are worth it over the borla's, and keep in mind the brullens is header/cat section
