Rally Stuff 87 GL Sedan FWD to 4WD...Questions.

So, Me and a few friends are in the process of creating a running rally beater for backyard rally at my buddies farm... Actually, two running beaters.

So I've aquired a FWD 87 GL Sedan, It runs, the clutch is blown however...

I have access to a Turbo 4WD Wagon, missing intake manifold/tb assembly.
I also have access to a MPFI 4WD Wagon, NA. Can't get the MPFI wagon to run... need to dick around with it more.

My question is, What all do I need to convert the Sedan to 4WD?

And also, How much is involved in turning the carbed sedan into a turbo car?

The turbo car thats currently sitting may be good with the throttle body assembly, if someone has a spare and is willing to donate!

Well, thats about it, TIA

People on the USMB may be able to address the questions better, but I will try...

FWD -> 4WD.. you need tranny, probably shifter linkages, rear suspension, gas tank... well being a wagon and sedan... who knows if they will swap...

Converting a carb to turbo, its a pain, I wouldnt bother, just drive the turbo car OR... swap the ENTIRE turbo wiring harness to the carb body.

swap the trannies, the shifter mounts will fit the stud under the tunnel. if you are going from automatic to 5spd swap the tranny crossmember. the ENTIRE rear suspension will swap as a unit, but you have to drill holes for the diff mount, long bolts and washers. a 4wd ass end will give you more ride height,

all the front will fit the same, leave it all there, just connect the axles to the tranny. but if its a turbo trans then you will need to swap the axles too to match the spline count.

finally you will need to invent a mount for the driveshaft, as 2wd bodies dont have the mounting points

i have done a few of these, 2 2wd auto to 4wd 5spd, a 5spd 2wd to 5spd 4wd conversion, and the same in an ea81 car using ea82 motor and driveline, suspension

anything specific, hollar [email protected]
