Default No 93 Octane left

I live in FLa and cuz of the Hurricanes weve had a shortage of gas. Mostley 87 and 89. So I go to a mobile and they have no 93 SO I drive to the next station and the same. Only 87 available. 4 more stations and all the same. By this time my low fuel light has come on. The last station says they have 93 at there other store about 26 miles away I know I wont make it with traffic. So I put 2 gallons of 87 and then drove to that other gas staion and filled up with 93. Any damage done being so low on gas and running 87? When I had my sedan something similar happend where 87 was put in, but that was the whole tank? I put race gas in that and never had any problems? SInce there was only 2 gallons put in, should I be ok? Thanks Mikal

You probably didn't do any harm to your car. When you have to feed it crappy gas, just try to stay off boost.

Get a can of Torco, Xylene, or Toluene and keep it handy for situations like that and it'll be a non-issue in the future.

As long as your not building much boost <5psi, you are more then likely fine.

next time they're out of 93 you might want to use 89 instead of 87.

the stock ecu is designed for 91 octane, so from 91 to 89 isn't that big a difference. if you drive carefully you will most likely be fine for short periods of time. the ecu will retard timing and boost if it detects any problems.

if you have a custom tune or software that needs 93, i would be much more careful.
