Default 'down grading' to 2.5rs side skirts

i plan on switching my 03 WRX side skirts for some 2.5rs skirts. the reason why i plan on doing this because i like the look of how some STOCK vehicles like the nissan R34, dodge viper, camaro, s15 have their sides near the fender wells tucked in- resulting in exposing the thread of the tires giving it that wide look. so i lan on inhancing that affect. i really like the way they look from the rear and at an angle.will this work? do i need other hardware or modifications to swap to 2.5rs skirts?

this will probably be one of my major sleeper features. no body kits except for a jdm front grill. painted carbon fiber trunk and hood to match the oem paint. wide rims 18x8 or 17x8 CCW anodized black rims. im willing to buy someones mint condition 2.5rs side skirts local pick up only.

the 2.5 rs "skirts" are just the bare side sills.

all you have to do is take off the plastic wrx skirts.

and mail them to me.

for real, i'll give you 25 bucks for them, shipped.

also, painted CF is going to be almost just the same weight as the stock aluminum hood. the trunk will lose weight, but you may only lose 2 or 3 lbs off the hood. not worth 4-6 hundred dollars, IMO.

i ve heard that there are mounting holes where the wrx skirt used to be. i haven't taken off mine yet. can those sills be taken off and replaced with the 2.5 skirts?

THERE ARE NO SKIRTS ON THE 2.5

you'd have to fill the holes with bondo and paint it.

the side sill is a part of the car's underbody. you can't take them off.

Handsdown is right. I wanted to go skirtless because I liked the way it looked and would be able to run RS mudgflaps.

I would just paint the sideskirts. Even for black, painted sideskirts look very good, IMO

they're almost impossible to see because they're flat black, but i screwed with the levels on this one so you can see them a little better.

nice. i plan on going to that sleeper look of a 2.5rs (currebtly own a 2003 wrx). ill get an rs hood when i get my stealth black fmic, debadge everything, 18x8 CCW black center/polished lip street rims (they will probably give it away that there's a beast under the hood) skirtless(of course!), no wing, no body kit except for the jdm grill swap, don't know if ill leave the stock exhaust, invidia DP with custom DMH electronic cutout (so i can sound stock), & aps bov that re-routes soft boost and becomes fully atomospheric at high boost to complete my oh so sleepy look......

now that, sounds awesome. unfortunately... even with my 2.5 RS badge/hood/lackofsideskirts/stockexhaust people still think my car's a wrx... so i hope the same doesn't happen to you

it probably will happen because there arent any RSs around my city and i have only seen 1 out of all the years of being a subie dude, and it was a chick driving one that looks exactly like yours without a wing. plus, everyone that has seen me drivng around the neighborhood knows that my car is a WRX (due to the RFL that until now i got rid of for that sleeper sound). But thing will be different out of the city. if i go against a V8 tamer ill just say its raw and naturally aspirated. haha
