Default Exhaust help (not a what should I get thread)

So, I installed some Borla headers on my legacy GT wagon about a week and a half ago. I bought the three new gaskets for the header-->engine and then at the back end of the header.

Ever since I installed them I have smelled more of a "gassy" exhaust smell. I was thinking the ECU reset was making it run rich and things would "learn" themselves away.

Well, the ECU has had sufficient time/mileage and no change. I was then worried about cracks. Went under there today and no cracks that I can find anywhere. So, what is up??

The only other thing that I can think of is that when I installed them I had to remove the stock manifold and the first cat. I didn't have the gasket at this junction to replace. I just went ahead and used the old one. Could that be enough to cause the smell??? Any other ideas. Is this typical with the Borlas???

Thanks for any help

That old gasket would have to be in bad shape to cause that much concern. It need be broken or torn. Double check all bolts are nice and tight. Also look around for black soot underneath to see any leaks. Just a guess from another borla owner.
